All the big ideas, aspirations, hopes, and good intentions, often go for nothing, Unless / until the concepts are accompanied by a relevant, realistic, sustainable and well-considered action plan, based on quality strategic planning. Unfortunately, however, we often witness candidates, for higher office, who either have high aspirations (but lack a quality plan) or simply resort to empty and rhetorical promises to attract voters and get them. themselves, chosen! For more than five decades, I have had a keen interest in politics and politicians, working on many political campaigns and, realizing it, the United States voter often does not choose the individual, who is the best, clever, willing, and able to do what is best for the nation, the world, and our citizens. Perhaps, more than in most of the previous presidential elections, the one that we are currently observing, especially, in these primaries of the Democratic Party, pits, what is known as the Progressive left wing, against, what the press calls, the Center left / moderate. With that in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review, and discuss 5 examples of why and how, if we want great ideas, it’s important to choose someone, who has a plan, to get it done.
1. Health care: This year, every Democrat says, believes, that quality health care should be a right of all Americans. However, while Bernie Sanders affirms that only Medicare is worth for all, and Elizabeth Warren articulates a message in which it is distributed progressively, during 3 to 4 years, the rest of the candidates, still in the primaries, call to build – building on the principles of the Affordable Care Act and strengthening it, with a public option and prescription drug price controls. Those who ask for one-time payment approaches, claim, will cut costs, but, I can’t explain, all the problems, limitations, and ramifications, including fee payments, existing insurance company employees, etc. Also, with the deadlocks, which generally limit the actions of Congress, the one-time payment approach seems quite challenging to pass and therefore implemented. At the same time, President Trump articulates a message that often disagrees with the actions and behaviors of his administration, especially on this issue!
two. Climate change: While Donald Trump articulates a message, affirming his belief and denial of Climate Change, almost all the experts affirm that it is a reality! While Trump procrastin, And some candidates support an unspecified plan, certain candidates, like Michael Bloomberg, articulate a plan to address these challenges in a timely manner. We can’t afford to procrastinate!
3. Jobs / Employment: When it comes to jobs and employment strategies, we must consider both less unemployment (jobs) and better quality. What good is empty rhetoric when it comes to this!
Four. Immigration / security: Although, this president articulates a message, which seems to equate national security, with his South Wall! While national security and protection of the public are necessary and desirable, most experts believe that this approach is more symbolic than effective.
5. Constitutional guarantees: Those, we elect, must protect all of our constitutional guarantees, and not merely selective ones, that serve President Trump’s personal / political agenda, his own interests, and his apparent biases and prejudices.
If we don’t protect all of our citizens and only protect the Constitution, when it is personally convenient, America loses and the terrorists win! Our elected officials must be held accountable, with higher standards!
