Leave room for new ideas: fostering creativity in the workplace

Managing productivity, profits and people is not always easy. While successful corporations adopt a wide range of strategies to be successful, almost all focus on their employees. Managers try to develop practical skills that cover all areas of operation. What employees basically need is a core skill that enables them to manage and succeed in the very diverse work situations and workplace challenges of the 21st century. They need to learn to THINK. Intelligent and creative thinking is essential to unveil new and innovative products and services. Managers must “make room for new ideas.” Managers must create the right work environment to “accommodate new ideas.” Why are some employees able to come up with new and innovative ideas, while most are unable to come up with a single idea to improve work practices? The problem is not just with the employees. Your colleagues and supervisors have a significant effect on the creative and innovative behaviors of employees.

It is true that individual personality and attitude play a dominant role in creating innovative ideas. That’s not the only component of the creativity and innovation process at work. Colleagues (peers) and the supervisor with their own personality and attitude have the potential to influence the bottom line. In other words, a person who has the talent of creative personality and attitude may not eventually contribute new ideas, simply due to the absence of a favorable work environment.

As managers, you must make a concerted effort to reach all employees at all levels of the organization. All training activities and programs should try to create the right environment that encourages creativity. You can take the following steps to make way for new ideas:

  • Encourage employees to keep an open mind: this is the first step if you want to give way to new ideas. The individual employee, colleagues, and supervisor collectively should be encouraged to adopt this mindset. When they show signs of stiffness in their attitude, encourage them to ask: What else …
  • Don’t micromanage: Any attempt to keep track of everything in the workplace. Give employees greater autonomy, so that they are free to think out of the box.
  • Keep your PCOS short and sweet: The presence of comprehensive and comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) is the surest way to eliminate each and every new idea.
  • Encourage them to ask “What if …?“When team members are looking for creative solutions to a problem, encourage them to ask, ‘What if …? This is the best way to challenge the old assumption, the biggest barrier to innovation.
  • Insist on more than one solution: Let employees know that it is in the interest of the group and the business organization to seek more than one solution to a problem. You can start with three minimum solutions and gradually increase them to 4, 5,6 and eventually 7. The moment they start asking “What if …? Generating more than 3 solutions will be a problem.”
  • Make the group diverse: Make sure team members have diverse backgrounds in terms of age, gender, experience, culture, race, and area of expertise. Involving people from other units, departments is one of the best ways to seek new and innovative ideas.
  • Make brainstorming sessions FUN: start the session with some unexpected activities – distribute fruits, sweets or chocolates. A pleasant positive emotional experience will bring new ideas.
  • Hold regular brainstorming sessions.: Make sure the facilitator is well trained in the art of conducting an effective brainstorming session.
  • Ask the employees’ children about new ideas: What better way than to harness the great potential of your employees’ children.
  • Provide creativity training: High performance in any area depends on the skills, abilities and knowledge of the employees. Establishing a proper foundation in these three areas is the best way to start when it comes to making way for new ideas.

‘Leave room for new ideas’ Also require managers to eliminate old and useless practices and ideas that occupy the room. Review your current policies and practices and be prepared to get rid of them. Until you create the right space, you will not be able to contribute new ideas. Prepare to ‘Make room for new ideas. Master some basic techniques that will put you in a better position to start. Designing a 1920s kitchen

It may seem counterintuitive to base a kitchen remodel on a style from nearly 100 years ago, but a stylish 1920s kitchen can add a quick dose of charm and style to your home while remaining equipped with modern appliances and amenities. .

The 1920s is generally remembered as a time of parties, flapper dresses, and perhaps some frivolous spending. This post-WWI era embraced the young influences of Hollywood, art deco, modernism, and travel. Here are a few different ideas to help those looking to remodel their kitchen with a 1920s motif.

Color scheme : White, black, yellow, and pops of red were arguably the most used colors in 1920s kitchen interior décor. Black and white tile floors are stylish, but keep the fun feel of a chrome dining room, while bright yellow trim or accent walls make the whole room feel sunny. Complementing with red accents, like a red clock or wall hanging, is a great way to include a 1920s style in a kitchen.

The benefits of the simple black and white look include that these colors are easy to match with personal accessories, appliances and cabinets in the right colors are easy to find, and black and white are surprisingly easy to keep clean.

Accessories : Appliances in the 1920s were still very basic, but they have some of the standout features including rounded edges, simple round black knobs, and large pulls rather than the delicate and thin widely available today.

Turning on : Lighting in the 1920s was pretty basic considering it had only been around for a few decades, but with today’s wide selection of lighting, there are plenty of modern lighting options that will fit in perfectly with the 1920s look. Hanging Pendants over the island will add a nice focal point to the kitchen; white or yellow pendants are strongly recommended. Under cabinet lighting is always suggested, not because it was commonly used in the roaring twenties, but because it is the perfect way to highlight beautiful kitchen decorating work. For ambient light, recessed ceiling lights are the most common and effective for achieving uniform illumination. A fun way to bring the 1920s into a lighting scheme is to add a lamp that shows a woman holding the light, which was popular.

Countertops : Tile floors were commonly found in 1920s kitchens, but flat laminate countertops were common. The best option for today’s kitchen is to keep the look flat, grout-free with modern laminate, granite, or marble. Granite and marble, although expensive, are highly recommended for their strength, durability, and natural beauty. White or black countertops will fit in perfectly.

Accessories : A stainless steel sink and faucet mounted above the sink with a long neck will be most appropriate in a 1920s kitchen. Naturally, sprinklers, garbage disposal, and instant hot water faucets weren’t used instead, but these days they are highly recommended as part of a kitchen remodel.

Seating : Bar stools or plain chairs with stainless steel support and yellow or white cushions are suggested options to place around a small breakfast table or as additional seating on the island or bar.

Wardrove : There are a variety of wardrobe options available that still keep up with the 1920s look. Simple white cabinets are always stylish, cabinets with glass windows and open cabinets are also appropriate. If you decide to display the contents of the cabinets, it is important to have simple dishes that also fit in with the twenties style. Plates that have white backgrounds and a small fruit or flower sticker are ideal.

The best part of remodeling a kitchen is probably the research that is done ahead of time. Seek inspiration from old ads, photos, and movies and start designing your dream kitchen today!

Ferrari over the years

In 1994, long-time loyal Ferrari customer Giampiero Moretti, FOUNDER OF MOMO, was one of the few who convinced Maranello to return to sports car racing, making them understand how important it was for the company to return to it. motorsport category in its largest market. that was North America. At that time, almost 23 years had passed since Ferrari had last participated in the IMSA World Sports Car Championship with the Ferrari 312 PB in 1971 and therefore it needed a completely new car to compete.

A big part of the appeal of the Ferrari F40 is how raw and pure it looks. It was built as a race car for the road and is proud of it. There is no trick here. This is a race car first and a road car second. The headlights and taillights are just an afterthought to make it road compatible. The cabin is small, the seating position is awkward and uncomfortable, the suspension is stiff, and there’s a lot of lag on the V8 biturbo engine … but none of that matters.

The Ferrari F40 is an experience because there is nothing like it. You can’t just go out and buy something similar, even if you have all the money in the world. The only thing that comes close to an F40 is another F40. It was the last car signed by Enzo Ferrari himself. On average, it is still considered the best Ferrari ever built.

The 250 was a turning point for Ferrari. He further propelled the company and solidified its place as a legendary automaker. Classified as a sports car, the Ferrari 250 SWB was just as easily a decent GT car at heart, depending on the model. Ferrari built several different variants, but they were all called 250. Succeeded by the 275 and 330, it is still highly regarded by most people, considered arguably the best road Ferrari of all time.

Officially, the Ferrari 250 SWB was offered with long wheelbase, short wheelbase and Europa. The Europa was the GT of the lineup, with a long 2,800mm wheelbase. The LWB reached 2,600mm and the SWB just 2,400mm. The SWB was the most agile and agile of the three, but many of them were convertibles. All three were powered by a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V12 with 300 horsepower. As much as I like Ferrari’s current V12s, they don’t even come close to a small capacity V12 like the one found in the 250. It sounds mechanical and alive, if that’s the exact expression I’m looking for. Back then, nothing was done synthetically. Everything you hear comes from the engine, it comes from metal parts rubbing against each other.

The 6-Step Marketing Campaign

Entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs are urged to periodically launch marketing campaigns designed to promote the products and services sold and the brand. The goal of marketing is to drive sales and generate revenue and profit, the lifeblood of all businesses. In support of that suggestion, here is a review of the core components of a successful marketing campaign.

Step 1: identify your target audience

Understand who you want your campaign to reach and influence. List the industry categories (for example, for-profit, non-profit, social services, IT, hospitals, banking, etc.) and the titles of your most frequent clients and most promising potential clients. Members of your target market groups must have the motive and the money to use your products or services.

Step 2: meet the competition

When creating your primary and secondary marketing campaign messages, keep your direct competitors in mind. The marketing message should promote the expertise, experience, judgment, and attributes that make you superior to others with whom customers and prospects might do business. Your message should be designed to overcome current or potential objections to you and persuade those with motives and money to choose you, because hiring them will make them look good.

Step 3: identify the primary and secondary marketing messages

What do you need to make known to current and potential customers to help them develop the confidence to do business with you? Refer back to your knowledge of your target market groups and competition, remembering to also reference the customer’s priorities and concerns and their goals when using your products or services.

In marketing messages, look for ways to improve your brand, that is, your reputation. Customers do business with those they know and like; they do even more business with those they trust and respect. Building your image or (tactfully) showing off your already remarkable brand will become the core elements of your marketing message.

Step 4: select the media platforms

Decide which media platforms you will use to reach current and potential customers. Marketing campaigns are most effective when they use more than one platform to get the message across to target markets. Comprehensive marketing campaigns will include a mix of print and online media platforms that feature text, visual and audio options, based on what the target audience follows and what they trust.

Sponsoring local charity events is another potentially effective marketing platform. When charity event sponsorships are part of your campaign, send a press release to local media to request inclusion on additional media platforms. Newspaper articles or radio ads are always trusted more than paid ads, because the news is perceived as unbiased.

There is also an indirect and ongoing brand promotion campaign that marketers are encouraged to run. B2B service providers are encouraged to regularly schedule presentations as a host or visiting expert at webinars; serve as a panelist or moderator in programs that address topics that the target audience will find relevant; speak at conferences that your target audience will attend; or teach related courses or workshops as a way to improve the value of the intangible resources that you sell, that is, your experience and criteria.

Step 5: create a budget

Once you have your version of the ideal marketing plan in draft form, calculate your expected costs and implementation schedule. Make sure the campaign ROI makes sense for your marketing goals. Align your marketing efforts with projected gross sales and don’t waste resources on unsuccessful initiatives.

Step 6: track campaign performance

Setting goals and objectives for your marketing campaign are worthwhile activities. The process will guide you towards making decisions that have a positive impact on your campaign design, and will also help you understand what kind of influence you can exert through your marketing activities. Decide what you want your marketing campaign to achieve and confirm the metrics that will measure and recognize its success or shortcomings.

Potty Training In 3 Days – Does It Work?

If you are preparing to potty train your child, I’m sure you’ve seen the ads or heard other parents talk about potty training in 3 days. And now you wonder if that is possible or if this type of training is too good to be true?

It is a smart question and the answer is not simple. Simply put, yes, it is very possible to potty train a child in 3 days with a solid introduction to the basics. Then that same child will need to practice his new potty skills for weeks and months.

And that makes sense.

Let’s talk about how this training method works.

– Intense preparation. This is not a casual potty training. This is making sure (very important) that your child is potty-ready. There are plenty of potty readiness sign lists online and your child clearly needs to be both physically and emotionally ready to train or wait until they are.

Also, to learn to go to the bathroom so fast, YOU must be prepared too. You need to gather all the tools and potty aids you need so that you can focus on your child during the 3-day potty training marathon and not have to run to the store all the time.

There are several good guides you can buy online that will walk you through the 3-day potty training step by step. I have already trained 4 children and I can definitely tell you that if I started again I would get one or more of these guides and study them cover to cover BEFORE I start teaching them to use the potty.

– You need a clear schedule. You and your child will be best friends and teammates during this 3-day event. You will need to focus exclusively on your child, so it helps if other children can go on adventures with Grandma or someone special during this time.

If there is a lot of stress or chaos in your home, don’t try the 3-day potty training method. You will struggle unnecessarily due to distractions in your home and both you and your child will be quite frustrated, which means you may need to “unlearn” some habits when it comes time to relearn how to use the bathroom when circumstances are better. .

– During the 3 days of concentrated training, you will help your child to use his potty on a strict schedule. Typically this involves pushing liquids and popsicles to the child and / or using a potty training doll to model the potty process. If you use a toilet guide, you should follow the directions carefully for best results.

The idea behind this method is quite simple. First, your toddler or preschooler must have a clear understanding of what is expected of him. Then you need to practice that behavior intensively for a couple of days to start a new habit.

It sounds easy enough, but there are human beings involved and connecting the dots is not always that straightforward. And no matter how well the initial 3 days of potty training go, your child will need weeks and months of practicing his new potty skills until he wins competition.

That means accidents. Maybe just a few, maybe more.

Potty training your toddler in 3 days is not a miracle method of getting your child out of diapers, but it is a very reasonable approach to potty training if the method is followed correctly. Many parents have used this method to get their children out of diapers so that they can be constantly trained.

You will still need patience and lots of hugs. Just remember how long it takes for YOU to learn a new skill and you will feel more empathy for your toddler.

However, if you have the time and dedication to try, potty training in 3 days can be a great way to potty train your child.

10 secrets about the hidden power of the number 11 in numerology

The numbers symbolize the quantity. Numbers also symbolize qualities, as through numerical symbolism, better known as numerology. The number 11 is one of the most popular subjects in basic numerology due to the unique energy it represents.

Below are ten things you need to know about angel number 11.

1. The number 11 is likely to have been emblematically related to unusual experiences you have had. For example, seeing apparitions, hearing strange voices when no one is around, having visions of future events, and prophetic dreams are all related to the number 11 and numerology (and other spiritual numbers). The connection is through your natal and time numerology charts or universal time charts.

2. It is not mundane at all, it is a symbol of a very unusual energy. 11 is one of the most spiritual numbers, it is very from another dimension. 11 is the link to the invisible realms. If you were to list the numbers most associated with the energy of Spirit (or the Divine, God, etc.), the number 11 would be on that list for sure, as would the numbers 7, 9, 22 and others.

3. 11 is not easy in relation to health. Promotes a hypersensitive nervous system and physical body. Those who have it in abundance often have to moderate their diets and lifestyles to cope with the heightened sensitivity. Keeping your feet on the ground is imperative for those over 11 because there is a tendency to be out of body most of the time, and that tends to energetically separate the native from the physical self, causing bodily stress and even health problems. Being somewhere else but here at the same time makes earthly existence more challenging. Regular meditation and healthy habits help to deal with this problem.

4. Everyone has a different collection of hundreds of natal time and numerology indicators on their complete numerology lists. If 11 dominates your charts, it is very important to you. Unfortunately, the more you have, in general, the more challenges you will have in life (but opportunities for growth and spiritual advancement). It is an unpredictable, inexplicable and mysterious number from another dimension and often clashes with the ideal of everyday affairs running smoothly. He is a wild card and while those by far have higher than average burdens, they may also have more than average experience as an embodied soul and have enough wisdom to deal constructively with their destiny.

It is a “Master Number,” and so are all two-digit numbers, including 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, and 99. “Master” relates to the need to overcome steeper challenges than those symbolized With other numbers, however, they are also more promising for achievement, relative to the collective energy on your personal charts. They could also be called “dangerous numbers”. A reliable numerology software program like the Numerology Decoder Software will correctly calculate your Master Numbers and tell you where you have them on your basic table.

5. It is common for those with a heavy 11 on their lists to have a greater amount of charisma and recognition in their life. Alternatively, infamy, if the charts support it, is typical with the number 11.

6. Unfortunately, on the low side, the number 11 can be related to duplicity and betrayal, as well as crime and insanity. It is not an easy vibration to handle in this mundane world.

7. It is also characteristic that people with many birth years or time 11 have greater financial challenges in life. High speculative risk under a strong 11 should be avoided at all costs.

8. Bisexuality and homosexuality are very common in association with the number 11. If you were to equate the number 11 with an astrological sign, the sign of Aquarius is the most appropriate, although it is not a mutable sign, and the 11 is certainly a mutable number (that is, variable, inconsistent, volatile).

9. Distorted idealism is common with excessive energy. An example is extreme religious and spiritual beliefs. The “true believer” adjusts to the energies associated with the number 11.

10. To their credit, those with the heavy number 11 in their birth and / or chronological chart have the potential for unmatched spiritual awareness and insight, being prophetic messengers of the divine spirit. But it is important to realize that the 11 energy has to be supported by other spiritual vibrations in order to manifest positively.

From heavy to light: cheerful

I don’t know how big I was at my heaviest moment because I couldn’t bear to see the numbers keep climbing on the scales. My clothes were LARGE (or plus) and I only bought skirts with an elastic waistband. When I stopped weighing myself, I weighed 160 pounds (11 stones 6 and I’m short), and I knew I kept going up because my clothes, even with stretched waists, were getting tighter and tighter. You may have experiences similar to what I have had: looking in a store window, seeing my voluminous reflection impossibly superimposed on those slim mannequins. I remember how horrible it was to get dressed in the morning and do my daily toilet; it was impossible to pretend I wasn’t fat, and my pale lump filled me with revulsion and self-loathing. And trying to diet!

Well, okay, I was saying to myself, so today I will have the whole bag of Doritos so that he is no longer in the house and starts tomorrow. And since tomorrow I start all this regulation, I could also clean the freezer of that ice cream … and so on. It wasn’t like he enjoyed all that food, either. My food bills were high, and when I overeat, I pretended I wasn’t eating: ‘Wow! How did I get to the bottom of that bag? – or I just hate myself for every bite, while eating it. The compulsion to eat combined with that self-loathing was horrible, and yet every day I did it to myself, over and over and over again, day after day after day, for years.

When I first went to Weight Watchers as a teenager, someone got up and introduced themselves. I squirmed in my seat in embarrassment and jealousy before she started to speak. She was tall and slim and blonde, everything that I was not. She was so slim, slimmer than I could ever hope to be (I told myself at the time), with a figure that seemed to be one of those people who were born to be slim. And then she showed an old photo of herself, when she was, as she put it, ‘fat’ – she had lost 88 pounds (6th 4)! And then he said something that has stuck with me ever since: “I didn’t actually lose 88 pounds. I lost a pound, then another pound, then another pound, then another pound, then another pound, then another pound, until I got to the weight that have now.

The point is, I didn’t lose 88 pounds in one go. It was quite a lifestyle change. And sometimes it was tedious and it sure started out difficult. And at first, people didn’t even realize they were losing weight. Even after 20 pounds, people kept asking if I had cut my hair, I was that fat. Hard word, ‘fat’, right? Well I’m telling you it was only when I was okay with being fat that I was able to start losing a pound, then another pound, then another pound, then another pound. “I thought she was brilliantly wise in the first part and crazy in the last. Part about being okay being fat. I was deeply immersed in negative self-talk: “I hate this fat! I hate my body! I hate myself for keeping all this weight on me! How could it be okay to be so disgusting?

Have you ever had these conversations with yourself? Tell yourself these horrible things, that if they came from a partner or a boss or a colleague, would they clearly be abusive? And is it okay to treat ourselves this way? I’m jumping a head off myself …

Well, I managed to diet down to a size 12, but I didn’t lose all that weight, more than 4 kilos, all that time. After leaving my first husband, who abused me even more than I had been with me, I put on weight again, not what I had before, but I definitely needed a bigger wardrobe again. It wasn’t until I was in the UK, and did some emotional healing, that I was able to lose all the weight that I had put back on, about a stone. I didn’t even see that I had actually lost weight.

It wasn’t until I had my first daughter and lost the pregnancy weight, and went shopping with a friend who had experience selling clothes; she told me she was wearing a size too large, which was actually a size 10! Good news, in part, and also very sad news, sad because I was still so separated from my body that he couldn’t see me. So there was still more work to be done, and just in time, as you’ll see in a minute.

I had just found a new stress release technique that allowed me to dig through the layers, and I really mean dig deep, into the pain, that had been tying me to these major issues for all these years. The sexual abuse that I thought had turned to pebbles was still mountains, the anger that I thought I had let go of was an ocean – I had a whole landscape to deal with! And I did, with this technique, called the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). It is a way to easily and gently stimulate acupressure points while holding particular thoughts or speaking out loud. I used EFT almost every day for 6 months. And finally, I came out the other side. I was so much happier, so much more grounded, and so much more stable in myself in every way. I had no idea what to expect to test me.

Just over a year later, finally at a stable size of 10, my son died. I started eating chocolate every day, a lot, at least, a lot for me (one bar of Divine or Green & Blacks a week). Even with the unspeakable challenge of my son’s death, I was finally healthy enough inside not to turn to food because of that simultaneous consolation / punishment I had suffered in years past. I started to realize that I was missing the chocolate if I had not eaten it during the day, that I was planning to eat chocolate, the signs of addiction. It had only been a few months and he couldn’t cope. My son had died and no one was going to take my chocolate too!

Eventually I accepted the obvious, that having chocolate was not going to bring it back, so I started tapping again for food. It wasn’t that I had gained weight, I hadn’t, my overindulgence was on a completely different level than before, thanks to the tapping. It’s just that I really believe in EFT’s second name: Freedom. So even with all the pressures of life that I have had from a young age, the utter misery of my adolescence, and the added burdens and trauma of that extra stone that I carried for a while; the death of my precious son – even though I have had all those life experiences, I no longer use food to express my inner conflicts. Now I can deal with them in a loving way, thanks to EFT.

EFT has worked so well for me and my clients in my private practice that I am passionate about sharing it with others through training. I want to reach more people with this easy-to-learn method of dealing with our darkest places and problems. And I’m passionate about sharing with others that Freedom is possible, complete Emotional Freedom, and this is the best way I know of to get there. It’s hard not to be interested in exploring this further, isn’t it? This is how I also felt when I first heard about it, and here I am, years later, transmitting it. And the words of the woman who showed up at my first Weight Watchers meeting stuck with me too, and I knew it was in everything she said, well, I want to convey that too. You will allow me to give you this, won’t you?

Summary of the movie "The hangover"

One of the number one movies in America for weeks after its release is called The Hangover. The Hangover is the story of four guys planning a Las Vegas bachelor party that goes horribly wrong when they wake up and can’t find the groom. The boys look for their friend everywhere in the hotel, but to no avail. Fortunately, one of the friends, Phil, can save them from needing a bond while in Las Vegas. And so the adventure begins when the three men try to find the groom before their wedding.

The movie begins with three men taking their best friend to Sin City for his bachelor party. After getting ready to go out, the men step out onto the roof of their hotel and toast to a night they will never forget. Then the screen goes blank and becomes tomorrow in the city.

One of the men, Stu, wakes up to find the hotel suite in ruins and rushes to wake the others. None of them seem to be able to remember what happened the night before. Meanwhile, Alan, goes to the bathroom and finds a tiger in his bathroom. Quickly, the three friends realize that the groom is nowhere to be found, so they start looking for clues. Phil finds a hospital bracelet, so the three men try their luck at the hospital, but when they give the valet their ticket, he brings them a police car. At the hospital, the doctor remembers that there were four men when they all arrived at the hospital. He also tells them that they had just arrived from a wedding and tells them where the wedding chapel they were in is.

The boys go to the wedding chapel and discover that Stu married a stranger and Doug, the groom, was with them during the wedding. So the men go to the bride’s apartment to see if she remembers anything. She says she doesn’t know what they did after they left her, but they are interrupted when police officers enter the apartment to arrest the boys for stealing the police car.

At the police station, Phil is able to speak quickly to get all the boys released from prison by allowing him and his friends to demonstrate how a tazer works in front of the elementary school kids who are at the police station for a tour. .

After funnier events, the three boys can find their missing boyfriend and get him to their wedding on time, where the groom vows that he will never do anything similar again while married to his new wife.

The Hangover is a surprisingly witty and very funny movie. The name doesn’t give the movie enough credit. If you watch this movie, be prepared to laugh a lot at the outrageous events that occur in the movie.

A Dog Named Christmas by Greg Kincaid

The local animal shelter has created a new program called “Adopt a Dog for Christmas.” Todd McCray decides that his family should remove a dog from the show the week before Christmas. However, there is a big problem with Todd’s plan. He is a mentally disabled 20-year-old adult boy who still lives at his farm home in Kansas with his parents and his dad doesn’t want a dog. Todd can be very persuasive, so it doesn’t take him long to convince his father that this is a good plan. George, his father, tells Todd that he will agree to the plan, but that Todd must realize that Christmas ends on December 26 and that the dog returns to the shelter that day. Todd understands and promises that the dog will be returned to the shelter.

While they are at the shelter choosing their dog, Todd asks the shelter manager what will happen to the other dogs. He is very concerned when he learns that those dogs will be spending Christmas in their kennels at the shelter.

It has been McCray’s Christmas custom to hold an open house on the Sunday before Christmas and nearly every family in his small town stops by. On that open house, Todd begins telling everyone about the shelter and the “Adopt a Dog for Christmas” program. Little by little, recruit enough families for all the dogs to be adopted for Christmas week.

Well, as you can imagine, the week “Christmas” stays with the McCrays, he works his way into every heart, especially George’s. George, however, is determined to teach Todd that when you make a promise, who must keep it. George has also had some heartbreaking experiences with dogs in the past and is not sure he can survive by giving his love to another dog.

There is no doubt that this is a Christmas first story, but it is also the story of a man who strives to be a good father and a family that fully supports each member. There are so many stories about dysfunctional families, it is wonderful to read about a real family working together to help each other. If it is a family that reads aloud together, Dog named Christmas was written for you! If you just want to enjoy a Christmas story, you won’t find a better selection. If you are as stuck with George McCray as I am, you can read his story in the prequel, Christmas with Tucker. Be sure to add them to your bookshelf. Put them right next to Miracle on 34th Street.
