Is it worth making the big switch from BlackBerry to iPhone 4?

Making the big switch from BlackBerry to iPhone wasn’t easy for me. The idea of getting a touchscreen phone was overwhelming, I’ve heard stories about people’s screens packing their phones. So here I am thinking that having a touchscreen phone without the touch is not the way to go.

So about 2 years ago I opted out of buying an iPhone or any touchscreen phone and got my hands on the BlackBerry Bold 9000.

Fast forward to today: I love my BlackBerry Bold. Yes, it’s big, wide, and the camera isn’t the best, but I found it to be ideal for me in every way, and here’s why:

Construction

It’s solid, which means I don’t have to worry about being ‘brittle’ about it. I could throw it away a bit and not worry too much. The leather back shell was very stylish and had a slick touch that felt good against my hands. The overall build and styling of this model made the other BlackBerry look cheap and plastic.

Communication on the go

I’m always on the go, so with this device I could use email and BlackBerry Messenger for instant contact with friends, family, and business customers. For socializing, he had Twitter and Facebook applications, as well as the “normal” phone call and SMS / MMS.

Calendar

Running my own business, the calendar was perfect for organizing my time, which I use religiously, believe me.

Full QWERTY keyboard

This is where BlackBerry gets the main ‘Brucey bonus points’. The full qwerty keyboard is easy to use and can turn even the clumsiest reader into a hyperactive text typing maniac in no time. The buttons are slightly larger on this model compared to other BlackBerry, which makes a difference.

As soon as my contract ended, I was happy to keep my BlackBerry Bold and move on, but my friend Jmwob always talked about how his iPhone “changed his life” and how he could do this and that and how he just downloaded this new app. . that may …. (this is where I stopped listening and turned off) but you still have the portrait.

He had to see what the fuss was about and if it lived up to expectations. So I took the bullet for breakfast and ordered it. I ordered the iPhone 4. The Big Daddy.

As soon as I received the delivery, I was excited and in awe of the box and packaging. The little details on the packaging illustrate the perfect fine detail and effort invested in this product – it wasn’t just another phone tossed in a box with a charger, it looked like you had just bought part of the brand and was ready to experience it. .

Without wasting time I managed to register the new micro SIM, the phone charged and ready, which was as easy as a count of 3 (I only have 3 fingers)

Screen

Turning on the phone, I was instantly impressed by the clarity and quality of the display. The screen is clearer than my TV, really amazing; is the first thing you notice. Apple has definitely raised the bar by having this. Simply typing a text message or surfing the web is a high definition experience.

Touch screen

Ok, I said I didn’t like touchscreens, but this one is different. The tactile sensitivity of this phone responds very well to every movement of your fingers. It’s the best touchscreen out there and it’s so hard not to love how easy it does things.

Esthetic

The phone looks stylish. Without a doubt, it is thinner, less heavy and flatter than the BlackBerry Bold and still has a quality feel to it. However, I’m not throwing this out in a hurry.

Complete ease

Apple’s iPhone 4 goes to great lengths to make sure you don’t overwork. It makes things so easy: surf the internet, YouTube, play games, whatever you want.

For example:

If you own a BlackBerry, you know you have the ability to access YouTube, but what a headache it is to load the browser, load YouTube, load the video, stream / buffer it, and wait. The same experience is incredibly easier and faster on the iPhone 4 with many more options available. Literally one tap and you’re on the YouTube landing page. Another touch is playing a video – as soon as you load the movie you want, it is playing. Without foolishnesses. No streaming or buffering (depending on your signal, etc.) It just makes the whole experience less effort and so much more enjoyable that you’ll come back and do it more often. Put this way, it is so easy to use that even someone who is not a tech-savvy or older generation can use it.

Entertainment

When they say it’s another world of apps, it really is. Each comes with a full descriptive summary, reviews, ratings, and a report option. There is something for almost everything and for everyone. Applications allow you to transform your phone into a comic, novel, game machine, laptop, or whatever else is available. You will never get bored.

Facetime

The first time I tried Facetime, the whole experience felt both amazing and strange at the same time. The fact that you are talking and watching someone in motion is fantastic. I was talking to my friend Smwob and showing him my house! Amazing.

The strength of your Wi-Fi will determine the lag and clarity of the experience, but when I did, the screen was very clear and there was no lag when talking to my friend across town. Truly mind-blowing – a small hint of future technology to come.

General thoughts

So for now, the BlackBerry is packed in its box and I’m waiting for Apple to send me my free iPhone case. I know others may have had different experiences, this is just my personal experience and what I had to go through when switching from Bold to iPhone.

So do I regret signing up on iPhone 4? Not until now. In 24 months, my views may be different and I’m sure there are many more things to discover, good and bad, like getting used to the touch keyboard, but I know one thing, I’m going to have a good time. while doing. This is just the beginning of the journey. Stay tuned for another post coming soon and see how I’m doing.

Can you start selling your invention before patenting it?

Chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech companies spend large sums of money to have their employees burn midnight oil and come up with great inventions, whether it’s a new drug to treat heart disease or a process to produce large amounts of a chemical. used in the manufacture of a plastic. They know that patents are powerful when it comes to resisting competition. They also know that a patent grants an exclusive right for up to twenty years. So once they get their patent they should be smiling all the way to the bank … correct?

The answer is not always “yes”. The competition will try to unravel the patent and find many ways to discredit it. If companies discover, within five to ten years, that their patent is invalid, then all that investment and related work is going down the drain.

One way a challenger could break the patent is by claiming that you sold the patented invention before applying for a patent. The United States Patent and Trademark Office, like many other patent offices around the world, has strict rules and regulations for filing patents. One of those rules says that you must file your patent within a year of selling your product or offering to sell it. If you want to sell your product abroad, you will need a patent in one or more European countries or in Japan, for example. The European Patent Office has stricter rules than the US Patent and Trademark Office In Europe, you must first file your patent; the sale comes later.

Although inventor companies deliberately do not wait more than a year to file a patent, the question often arises as to when did they start selling. This is because, in modern business life, many parties often work together to create a new product. For example, one company may agree to fund research, while another company may agree to perform laboratory work. There could be multiple exchanges between the two companies, often over a period of 3, 4, or 5 years or more. Without the knowledge of the parties, such exchanges could have triggered the legal sale date or the offer date.

Take the case of the DNA patent where the company obtained a DNA patent to detect gonorrhea. The company that developed the DNA sent a sample to its settlement partner and received payment for it. However, he waited 13 months to file the patent. The superior court of patents in our nation’s capital ruled that the patent is invalid because we waited too long. Patent laws are very complex and therefore it would be wise to seek a competent attorney when filing a patent or if you are considering buying a company with patents or licensing a patent.

How to Prepare Your Home for a Quick Sale

Let’s face it, nobody likes to sell things and selling your house is SALE! You are trying to make your home stand out for EVERY prospective buyer who walks through your door. If you organize your home correctly, prospective buyers will be able to imagine themselves living in the home. Proper staging can decrease the number of days a home stays on the market and increase its selling price. Accredited personnel can be hired to visit your home and make the necessary changes to increase the marketability of your homes.

Home professionals shift the focus of the home to the seller’s taste and target the most likely buyer. Sellers need to realize that those personal keepsakes, family items, that they don’t put away before showings can affect how quickly homes sell and the value of your home. That is why many REALTORS may ask you to hire staging professionals.

However, if you really want to sell and get the best value, here are some tips from the pros:

1) First impressions start abroad. The first thing a buyer will see when approaching your home will be your garage door, flower beds, shrubs, and of course your front door. Garages and storage sheds should be cleaned and all shrubs and trees trimmed. Flower beds should be weeded and the garden should be clutter-free. Any personal garden art (pink flamingos or gnomes, etc.) should be put away. Consider spending a few bucks on mulch and maybe a few flowers to enhance the environment. Keep the yard trimmed and trimmed and consider painting the garage and front doors.

2) Neutral color paint is preferred throughout. Fresh and clean walls are a must. Your choice of colors can greatly affect the marketability of your home. Remember, we are trying to make the buyer feel at home, so it is not about their tastes, but about allowing them to imagine their things at home. Tan, beige, sage are excellent options. If you need to liven up the place a bit, try new towels or colorful cushions or blankets. You can also add a lot of color with some fresh flowers and pretty vases.

3) Clear everywhere! If you don’t use it daily, pack it up. Get rid of the clutter you go through every day. If you have children, make sure their things are neat and organized. Clean all of your closets and cabinets so they look fresh, big, and spacious. Get rid of all those pictures, keepsakes, and personal items.

4) The entrance to your home should be warm and welcoming. Try some good smelling candles and maybe some flowers on a table in the hall. Remember that you will never get a second chance to make a first impression.

5) The kitchen is undoubtedly the most important space when selling your home. The kitchen HAS to be immaculate. Clean from top to bottom, including ceiling corners, ceiling fans, and the floor under cabinets. Take everything out of the fridge, including children’s artwork, sports schedules, magnets, etc. Keep countertops clean and clear everything on them. Clean all the cabinets, especially under the sink, and be sure to organize everything, including the pantry and cabinets. Try a fresh coat of paint on new, modern doors and handles or knobs to keep everything looking fresh and new.

6) Nobody wants to bathe in someone else’s dirt, so make sure your bathrooms are spotless. Clean them like never before. All tile and grout should be scrubbed and shower doors or curtains should be clean with no signs of mold or calcium build-up. Clean your counters and put away all your personal items. Try buying new towels, decorative soaps and containers, and possibly even a new shower curtain and rug for the bathroom. Remember that your bathrooms can make or break a sale, so make sure they look good.

7) Make sure furniture is clean, dusted, and arranged so that people can easily walk around the room. If this means moving a piece or two to storage, go for it. It is important that people do not feel cramped when viewing a house. Save all your CDs, videos, photos and personal memories. Emphasize anything special in a room, like a fireplace mantel or built-in shelves, by placing a flower arrangement, a clock, or a piece of art on them. Never use personal photos of family or friends as display pieces.

8) Whenever you have a visitation or open house, be sure to clean the house from top to bottom, even the ceiling fans. Lighting is very important. You want enough light so that your house is not “like a cave”, but not so much that it looks like an operating room. Open curtains and blinds and try to let in as much natural light as possible. You can play soft music if you like and spray some air freshener or put some scent oil on your bulbs. Don’t go overboard with smelly stuff or people might think you’re trying to hide some bad smells. You can’t go wrong with fresh flowers and maybe even a candle or two in the bathrooms and kitchen.

9) A friend of mine, a real estate agent, suggests that you look around each room with fresh eyes. Try to imagine yourself as a buyer. Try to do everything on the list and prepare the house as if someone was coming to see it. Now do something you like to do and stop thinking about the house for a while. Spend a few hours outside and then come home like it’s the first time you’ve seen it. Enjoy everything from the view when you first drive, to the feel of home when you walk out the front door to get out. If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll probably see some things that I didn’t cover here and that’s great. Fix as much as you can to make sure potential home buyers don’t find anything wrong with your home when they make the final decision.

My suggestion is that if you can afford a stager, it is well worth the money. If you can’t, it’s not the end of the world, you can still get the job done with a little common sense and a little effort.

Is there something imperial in the future of Chrysler?

In the automaker’s heyday, the Imperial was the top-end car for Chrysler. Big, bold and luxurious, the opulent Imperial line was eventually canceled, but the car would later appear every now and then as a top-of-the-line Chrysler model, just above the New Yorker. Fortunately, an ugly late ’80s and early’ 90s version of the car was never successful, but the damage was done. The imperial name was tainted! Daimler chrysler [or DCX] Hope you’ve forgotten about those really hideous Imperials, as they showcase an Imperial concept at well-attended car shows in the US in 2006. Will the Imperial return? Maybe, but they need to work on the concept first!

The best thing that ever happened to Chrysler was its “merger” with Mercedes to form DCX. Well, now I’ve said it. Initially, the relationship between the two companies was extremely difficult, but thanks to good management, many of the above problems have been resolved. Today, several products found in Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge showrooms are there thanks to DCX’s cash injection. In fact, the Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, and Chrysler 300C are derived directly from older Mercedes “M” bodywork platforms. This platform has allowed Chrysler to build a line of popular rear-wheel drive cars, and the three names I just mentioned are part of that line.

Get in the Chrysler Imperial.

Based on the Chrysler 300C platform, the Imperial will stretch several inches and be taller than the 300C. Borrowing styling cues from the Rolls Royce Phantom, the Imperial could sell for at least $ 60,000 and place it in the same category as Cadillac, Lexus, Infiniti, and even Mercedes models.

Fine luxury details including leather seats, real wood trim, special interior lighting and a powerful engine are among the hallmarks of the Imperial. Above all, the car would propel Chrysler to market to attract customers fleeing competing brands. Hey, you need something a little more luxurious than the 300C to keep mobile clients in the house!

Ultimately, the decision to build the Imperial may not come from Detroit, but from Stuttgart, the home of Mercedes. If the model is perceived to be in direct competition with various Mercedes models, the Imperial will not see the light of day. On the other hand, a revived Imperial could further strengthen the Chrysler name and help the brand better compete against Buick, Cadillac, Lincoln, Infiniti, Acura and Lexus.

Time will tell, but the imperial concept is certainly intriguing. The front end is a bit sloppy, so a car modification is certainly warranted. In all, I hope the Imperial revives.

Buy stock photography or download for free

With the advent of social media, came an influx of image sharing. An image from one social media site is downloaded to your local computer and republished on another social media site. This practice creates a serious problem for the owner of the original image and the third or fourth generation “right clicker”.

I am a photographer and book format designer by profession, and I often see images in the body of work that I recognize as the property of a photographer. When I ask about the license of the image, I often get: “I downloaded it from the internet, can’t I use it?”

Many people know that it is easy to take a photo from the Internet by right-clicking and downloading it to your computer. The image being saved is not one that can be used in a book or any product that can be resold.

Without going to the source of the photograph and buying it, the image is illegal for commercial use. If the image is in Creative Commons or in the public domain, it is free to use in published work.

Another problem with right-clicking is quality. Most images on the Internet and low resolution and that results in a poor quality product.

You can be a blogger and book writer or a media creator for your new small business. You may want to enhance the materials you create with photos.

Before you right-click on an image that you find on the Internet, I would like to encourage you to visit the many photography sites that offer high-quality images licensed for commercial use.

Photographers create images. In the same way, your words are created by you and placed on a page, photographers put light and color on digital media. Photographers and their agencies own the images and when they “borrow” them for their product, the photographer is not recognized, appreciated, or compensated. This is a dangerous practice for you and could end up costing you more than buying a photograph.

Agencies that represent photographers and issue license of rights of use have litigated over the payment of images used without the proper license. Compensation to the owner or agency will often amount to a large sum of money. The agency has the right to request compensation as the owner of the image.

The photos have digital signatures called metadata and can be traced back to the owner and photographer.

Stock photography agencies, public domain micro archive sites sell photographs for photographers and the cost is very low. Buying an image from the agency does more than give the agency money. It also supports the creativity of photographers. For every image purchased from an agency, a portion goes to the photographer who created it.

The sites that I suggest to my clients for free and low-cost public domain images are Pixabay and Public Domain Pictures.

The sites I personally use for product stock photo images are Dreamstime, Adobe Stock, and Shutterstock.

As a photographer, I have a great interest in the practice of “right clicking”. My photo has been submitted to Pixabay, PublicDomainPictures, Dreamstime, Twenty20, and EyeEm. Some of my photographs have been sold to clients for book covers and even clothing. I think I would sell more if people knew how easy and inexpensive it is to obtain original licensed photos.

Pregnancy 101: 3 Important Things to Do Before Your Baby Is Born

Pregnancy may seem like the longest period of your life, but before you know it, you will be in labor! In addition to preparing your home to welcome the latest addition to your family, there are other important things to focus on while you can. Make time for yourself, your partner, other children (if you have them), and even your beloved friends or pets!

Try to do these 3 important things before your baby arrives!

Pack your hospital bags

Experts recommend that future moms should have their hospital bags packed by 7 months. One bag for you, one for the baby and a small one for Dad! There are many lists you can find online of what to pack. For you, some clothing sets and some entertainment for your hospital stay are a must. For the baby, you will need diapers, bottles and formula (if you are not breastfeeding) and even an outfit to go home, among other things!

Plan a family date

If you have other children, it is essential that they feel that, even when their new sibling arrives, they are as loved and important as ever. A good thing is to go on a family date to talk and have a good time together. It could be a picnic in a nearby park or dinner at your favorite restaurant. At home, try to spend as much time with your kids as possible before blowing up. A movie night or working together on a craft project will be so much fun! If you have pets, spend some time with them too!

Make dad feel special

Many dads feel a bit left out during pregnancy and childbirth, as mom gets the attention and pampering. Dads get tired too, and most of the time, they are just as anxious and excited about your baby’s arrival as you are. Before the baby arrives, show Dad your appreciation, as he has taken over the house and does the “heavy lifting” while you are pregnant. A little act of sweetness can go a long way: invite him to dinner with just the two of you, buy that thing at the mall you’ve been looking at for a while, or hire a babysitter so you can hang out with the boys.

It is important to focus on yourself and your family, in addition to preparations before popping, follow these important things to do before the baby is born!

10 tips for designing a design in Restaurant City

Restaurant City is a very popular game on Facebook, where you can create and manage your own “virtual” restaurant. It is a simulation of managing a “real world” restaurant and getting the same experience managing the restaurant. You can do different things in your restaurant, like hire new staff, decorate your restaurant, manage your restaurant, etc.

There are a few things to consider when planning a layout for your restaurant, and that includes:

1- Make sure your waiters don’t have to walk too far to the tables: The less waiters walk, the more time they spend serving and the less time they get to the tables.

two- Don’t add too many tables: If you have too many tables and there aren’t enough cooks to serve them, you won’t get your food out fast enough.

3- Center your stoves: Centering your stoves will help your dishes get delivered to customers much faster. In this way, a dish ordered from any table can go to any stove.

4- Use the corners: Give your waiters the greatest reach, as they can serve in all 8 directions, it is recommended to use the corners as much as possible.

5- Avoid walls: Putting tables or chairs against walls or grass will not allow visitors to reach the ones in the middle, as they generally refuse to enter!

6- Waiters box in: Forming complete squares or rectangles using your tables will catch your waiters. This way, they won’t wander around unnecessarily to serve food.

7- Count the steps of your waiters: To judge the efficiency of a layout, you must count the maximum steps a waiter would take to reach one of the tables. Always try to eliminate the number of steps a waiter would have to take.

8- Avoid diagonal walks: When waiters walk diagonally, their speed is typically about 1.5 times slower compared to walking left, right, up, or down. Whenever possible, try to prevent your waiters from moving diagonally.

9- Use your space efficiently: Try to use all the space available to you when planning your layout as it makes your restaurant that much more attractive. Always avoid crowding too many objects in one area.

10- Try more designs: The more time you spend playing restaurant city, the more levels you get and the more workers you can hire. It is recommended to change your restaurant layout from time to time and see which one is more efficient, in terms of fast food delivery to customers, minor waiters steps, etc.

Finding the best design that works for your restaurant should be your long-term goal, as the game is always changing and more features become available over time.

Do you love Chinese food? Think twice before ordering!

Do you love to eat Chinese food? Most of us do, but don’t be fooled into thinking that everything on the Chinese food menu is good for you. In fact, most people see Chinese cuisine as a healthy alternative to fast food, but the truth is, there are a lot of pitfalls on the menu, including the high sodium and fat content in several different foods on the menu. typical Chinese …

Rice: Almost everyone loves having rice as part of their Chinese menu. The problem is that many people confuse “fried rice” with brown rice, which is much healthier. The “fried rice” is actually white rice that is whole grain through soy sauce and oil. It is also high in fat and sodium. Stay away from fried rice!

Noodles: Never, never, never a good choice! Did I mention that they are not a good option? The amounts of oil used to cook these things are almost enough for your next oil change!

Sauces: Regardless of where or what you are eating, you should ALWAYS ask for your sauce on the side. Restaurants almost always pour much more than you normally would and ordering on the side allows you to control your portions. These sauces are also often high in fat and sodium. Soy sauce, for example, a staple of Chinese cuisine, has up to FOUR times the recommended daily amount of salt in just ONE tablespoon.

Meat: If you can’t recognize what’s on your plate, it probably means you should skip it. It’s always best to order steamed main courses. That way, not only would you be able to recognize what you’re eating, but you’ll be skipping the digestion of meat that’s covered in fat-soaked breading (think General Tso’s chicken !!!).

The best thing to do is take advantage of ALL the healthy options and order a little of everything, focusing mainly on vegetables and steamed dishes. You can still enjoy your Chinese food, but don’t derail all your hard work by making the wrong choices.

Search engine optimization: the key to a successful business

For people who know what they are doing, SEO work is critical. Your site will see more traffic if it is ranked higher in search engines. These tips will help you optimize your site for higher rankings.

Start by learning about SEO. Sites are not ranked by people, but by programs designed to see how relevant and useful a site is. Algorithms are used to find websites through complex systems. When you optimize your site for search engines, you use the automated page ranking process to your advantage. If you want to tempt search engine crawlers, consider creating a new web page or even taking an old site and redesigning it.

Once a search engine finds your site, it will rank it in one of several different ways. Website content and titles are two places where you find keywords. Sites that frequently update their content and have a constant stream of visitors also attract the attention of search engine spiders.

Increasing your position in search engines is a time consuming process. Focus on making sure your site is designed to be easy to navigate and attractive to both your visitors and search engine bots. Keywords should be used in titles, headings, and content. Keywords are part of the criteria that search engines use to rank your site. Also, they increase the relevance of your website for those terms.

Featured and sponsored ads you see at the top of a search results page are bought at high prices by large corporations. There is no way to pay for higher search results on most sites.

When you affiliate with other sites, you can help promote your site. When you optimize your own site, you use keywords and phrases that are popular, but you also need to have links that lead to your site. When you come to terms with the owner of another website, you can establish relationships that lead to link sharing. It is a very effective way to attract new visitors to your site.

You need specific visitors to visit your website and view your products or services. These are potential customers who will be more inclined to buy your product than random visitors. Find out what kind of keywords your target audience uses and include them in your content and titles. When advertising, it is also a very good idea to place these ads on sites that have to do with your product niche.

Every business needs a website. A website is essential to find new customers on the Internet. In this article, hopefully you’ve come across a number of ideas to help you optimize your site for increased sales and success.

Selecting a Mattress For a Single Bed – Do you need to find a new bed immediately?

Selecting a Mattress For a Single Bed – Do you need to find a new bed immediately?:

Do you have a single bed? Do you need to find a new bed immediately? Do not worry. The following paragraphs may help you solve your dilemma.

One of the many benefits of owning a single bed is the extreme ease and comfort that it provides. In fact, most single beds are so comfortable that you will wish you had a second one! Most people associate mattresses with sleeping, but they do not understand that a good mattress can serve more than just your needs. In fact, single mattresses are ideal for guests or for camping when too many guests drop by. Simply fold up the mattress, pack it in a storage case, and you are ready for another visit.

Selecting a Mattress For a Single Bed

While quality single mattress beds are usually sold in high-end department stores, you can purchase a quality bed at a price that fits your budget. There are many affordable bed frames and mattress sets available, and you are sure to find something suitable for your budget. One of the most attractive options is an aluminum frame bed, which is inexpensive and durable. Just be sure to keep track of how much you spend on the frame and then add that to the mattress, to determine an accurate total cost.

For extra convenience, consider buying a foam or memory mattress from an online retailer. These beds are not usually as expensive as you might think – in some cases they can be cheaper than traditional mattresses. Consider the special features and benefits of the various brands, and pick the one that works best for you.

Do you need to find a new bed immediately?

If you are lucky enough to live in a warm climate, you can protect your mattress with a wool cover. Wool covers are relatively easy to maintain and provide exceptional warmth. Be sure to read the care instructions carefully before you buy a wool mattress. Many of these mattresses are made of natural materials such as latex foam or down alternative, so you won’t have to worry about chemicals seeping into your mattress.

A single bed with a king-sized mattress is ideal for two people. Make sure that you don’t buy the mattress at the wrong size. It’s always best to lie down with your head directly over the mattress. This will ensure that you are comfortable and will also prevent any sagging.

You may want to consider a platform bed. They are known for being sturdy, durable and comfortable. As a rule, they are usually made from metal – although some can be found made from wood. When lying on a platform bed, you are less likely to feel pressure sores in your legs. This makes for a more comfortable sleep.

If you cannot afford the purchase of a new mattress, there are still ways to improve the quality of your current mattress. One option is to regularly vacuum the mattress. Remove all dust mites and stains, which are likely to cause sagging. Use a damp cloth on the mattress to remove stains, if necessary. Another simple cleaning technique is to use a mild soap and water on the mattress, once or twice a week to keep it in top condition.
